After Gaduating from London College of Music in 1999 James travelled and played throughout Europe and the Carribean on cruiseships backing production shows and cabaret acts. On returning to England in 2004 James has been performing locally throughout Shropshire as well as joining the Rat Pack on their UK tour, Dancing In The Streets, Sweet Soul Music  UK tour; the Peter Grant UK tour, Joe Longthorn, Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, as well as working with such big bands as the Ted Heath and Syd Lawrence Orchestra's. James has been a recent member of the John Williams Baritone Band, including such fine exponents of the instrument; Jay Craig (BBC Big Band), Allan Barns and Chris Briscoe.  Most recently in 2007 James has enjoyed playing with hit pop band the Bees on their 07 UK tour, with appearances on the Radio 1 Zane Lowe show as well as playing with the Bees at the London Astoria.

James also ventured into hosting jazz events in Ludlow Shrophire.  James's jazz nights have featured names such as the Don Weller Quartet, and the album, 'Cous Cous' , by latin jazz band Quiver.
