Abi's Photoshop Lessons

Over the past 10 years I have been working very closely with Photoshop as an editing and creative tool for my professional photography, illustration and website design and as a result I am now taking on more and more individuals for lessons in the creative practice of Photoshop.

If you have no experience, very little or would simply like to brush up on your skills in Photoshop my classes are just the ticket. 

I offer one-on-one learning or group sessions (groups are limited to 5 people, computers and Photoshop software is not supplied).  If you are requiring one-on-one lessons and have no computer don't worry I have a laptop with the latest Photoshop CS3 which you can use to get you on your way.

I offer one-off lessons or a series of lessons depending on what you require.

What will the session or sessions involve?

The structure of the lesson or lessions will be completely planned out depending on your prior knowledge of Photoshop if any and your confidence level working on a computer.  The most important thing to find out before the lessons begin is what you want to achieve and use the software for whether it be for photo-manipulation, illustration, animation,or web images etc.

What qualifications experience do I have?

Although I have never taken an Adobe Photoshop qualification myself, not one day has gone by when I have not been using Photoshop for my professional work.  I am mainly self taught and have learnt the hard way on a number of Photoshop activities which is why I will take delight in showing you how to achieve the same or better results in a much simpler way!

I have a deep rooted background in painting and photography and have a great eye for visual detail which allows me to be able to pick up aspects of images which need altering but are very difficult to see with the naked eye.

I achieved a 1st Class Honours degree in Photography from Derby University and I'm now using my visual and creative skills on a daily basis and creating work for a variety of high profile individuals and businesses.  My work needs to be spot on and I can't afford for it not to be!

Why do I want to be a Photoshop tutor?

I never really thought of myself as a tutor until I began to get confident using to tools of my trade and when Photoshop became second nature to me various people would ask me to show them how to create or alter various images and I discovered that being able to pass on my knowledge was very rewarding.  I now work with a number of people showing them how to develop their own skills and confidence using this fantastic image package.

New Work at the Unicorn

I am pleased to announce that the next few months will see a change around in work that is on exhibition at the Unicorn in Ludlow.

As you may have guessed by now I love the work of Gustav Klimt and gain a lot of my inspiration from his work.  The image shown here is a take off from one of his paintings which I have called 'The Embrace'.  I have created it in mixed media, acrylic and gold & silver leaf. 

Klimt in Liverpool

If you are like myself and gain inspiration from the work of one of the most influencial and admired artists, then you might be pleased to learn about the exhibition of Gustav Klimt which is now on show at the Tate Liverpool.  The Tate is currently  holding the first comprehensive exhibition of Gustav Klimt's work ever staged in the UK.
